Mind mapping is a technique in which diagrams are used to facilitate thinking and extend the power of mind. At the heart of this approach is the construction of a mind map. A mind map
is a specialized diagram that may be used to organize a variety of
information, including key ideas, issues, tasks, problems, and decision
points. The graphical way of organizing knowledge involved in mind
mapping is thought to enhance learning and problem solving. It also can
facilitate the communication of complex information.
The graphical representation of knowledge has been around since man
first picked a piece of charcoal and drew on a cave wall. But, it has
evolved considerably. Today, powerful computers allow us to graphically
represent complex data sets in an instant. Mind mapping, however, is
something different. It is a powerful technique that anyone can use
without complex equipment. All you need is some paper, colored
pencils, and a willingness to try something different.
